Pepe47 (7101km): Australind, 6.6m koncept, 101 futura, 37cm weedie. Couldn't seem to crack 30 kns with this outfit but managed today with a different boom and a 33cm techtonic fin. Really good way to shake off the night shift blues with a short trip to Bendyland. Got there with the rain coming in in squalls up to 25kn and the lulls around 13kn so I wasn't sure what to rig. Turned out to be ok but the fin let me down a bit so I opted for the 33 which was a good decision, freed up the board and still held on well. Drove home with a shit eating grin that made the last few night shifts worth it. Go Bendyland !!

Elmo (15665km): JP SS 69cm, NP RSS Mk IV 7.8m, JPSS 42cm What Hardie said, But given that it was still a highlight on today / this week. Twas GAF out there, looked a lot windier than what it was, still managed a couple of nice little squirts. had to uphaul the sail a few times when I gumbied the gybe and there was no wind to get out of the nicely chilled water. My new Burke windbreaker is the Biz!! Toasty baby
Bender (19030km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU WSW 18-30knts F2 SX68 and CA50, RSR 6.7m and EvoII 6.2m, 36F1 and Bendercave 28custom speed weed Started on the 6.7m and SX68 sailed down the run and my mast snapped as i gybed. After running 2km's back to my car the wind had filled in so i riggd the 6.2m and plugged i the CA SP50. Every now and then a squalll would come through and the wind would swing to the SW I got one of these for the peak. happy but no cigar. 40knts wwas close today just needed the gusts to last a bit longer. GH's wa still a bit choppy due to the highish tide. It got better as the tide dropped. Pepe left and it got pretty smooth pity there were no more squalls. Way better than working. |
