Had a great morning sailing with Mike and Steve. Just comfortable on my old Carbon Art course board-the dust is washed off now! 8.2 mtr and another True Aimes large weedy fin. These are great! I did break a harness line after 2 hours of sailing and decided to pack up. Lots of fun!

Note to self- change harness lines more often than every 10 years!Cool

first a big thanks to Mike for providing board, sail, mast etc  and downloading my #s.

We should go for distance tomorrow said Mike. Hmmm maybe I can arrange that I said. I had my wetsuit, harness , GPS etc with me but that was all.

So a couple of hours at work, of to sail on Thommen 59, 7.0 Gastra GTX and herby weedy I gave it a go. Very gusty all day, the GTX needs skills other than those I have to work well. Maybe partly rigging, stance and maybe something else. I tried to bear away and go fast and failed. I tried to go quickly across the wind... fail. gybes..... guess what

. Either way by halfway through the session my legs were realy painful.

HOWEVER, i had a great time on the water with decrepit, Man of and Yoyo. A couple of dolphins swam briefly under my board. A police boat shouted on its megaphone to another boat "you must give way to sail". A super time on the water and a few points to boot. LG.

Now back at work so I need only book 1/2 day leave Smile

Distance and Hr attempts with Evets and Man of. Nice cruisy conditions most of the time, with the odd hole taking the shine off.

Thought I had a better Hr, my calculations said 23 NM in about 65min, must have done something wrong.

Used big board with the Avi 6.0 and 31 woody weedy.

Welcome aboard Rob. nice speeds for Pong. I have it's younger relative, Ping, (SXL), sensational on flat water but I cannot get to grips with it on heavy chop.

Hi Lao, I am glad I had an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and use completely unfamiliar kit. I proved to myself I could do it however I would have been more comfortable on my stuff! I think I would ach less had I been on my trusty NP sails for example. Not necessarily better just what I am used to.
