Just realised I have lost heaps of distance because of my data loggers both craped it today and lost my peak speeds which I did early in the session google earth has me starting at the top of Goats!!!!

is it possible to join two files from two data loggers in real speed?

Hey Steve,

Were you using an SD card, or just using the datalogger?  The logger only records a certain number of hours (I think around 6?) but the card will record months of continuous data.

This has bitten me before as well

Nebbian, I was using an SD card. When I went to download the info it was saying 0 KB. The only info I could see on the GPS display was the odometer reading. I will give the GPS to Dave and see if he has any luck.

Bad luck Jez, you should have driven into Mortimer the track wasnt too bad. Hope the board is ok.

Well done on all the results and pb's from today, great work guys! Kaleb you're a machine Russ you and GPS's not a good combo, you must have touched Steve's GPS (bad luck Steve, hope Dave can salvage it)

Yer should have gone to Mortimer for a look at the track at least, oh well will know for next time. Just cant believe the track was ok with all the rain we've had.

Only damage was some minor dents on the bottom of the board and a couple of scratches on the fin, so a lucky escape.

Awesome southern team effort.  Well done to Damo, Steve, Russ, and Will for their PB's.  Hands down Steve wins 'machine of the day' award.  I was having trouble with 5.6 and theres Steve  motoring backward and forward with a 7.0, not to mention a board 27 litre bigger ah well I suppose he is 27kg heavier   Jez, Jodi drove into mortimer in her Corollla.

DrCam, I know Iknow! At 200km when Dave and I started to head back I was intending to go in then, after sailing for six hours with no circulation in my hands or feet I was ready to packit in.  Then, when I got back down the bay I had 226km and thought what the hell maybe I can get 250. Then one thing led to another and I was ready to give up at 290.  My hands wouldnt move and were whiter than the white caps, I could not feel my feet properly and it felt like something was in my booties stopping the feet from going into the straps properly.  I did one more run to give me 299 on the Garmin. I wanted 300 and thought I might just go a bit further and get a PB.  I got halfway acroos the run and in 30 knots got all crossed up on some crazy chop and spunout really bad.  That was it, I said some strange words that I cant repeat and thank Huey for the 300km and said stick the PB for today.

After sailing continually for 8.5 hours(occasional 2 minute lay up in the shallows) I needed food and water.  My hands had swollen up to look like I had no knucles and my usually loose wedding band would not move, Jodi thought I might have to cut it of(shes always trying to get rid of me) My feet had also swollen up and with no felling in them it was very strange to walk around and it explained why I was having trouble finding the footsraps and getting my feet to fit into them.  Today the swelling in my hands has gone down but my fingers are numb and tingly with limited feeling. My feet are the same and the heels feal like they've been smashed with a slegde hammer.

Who's stupid idea was it to do distance when the teperature in Hobart was 7-9 degrees. You can knock a couple more off for where we sailed and then take a bit more for wind chill.  What a bunch of lunatics!!

Great day sail though, a bit gusty at times ranged from 12- 35 maybe even a touch more in some gusts.  I got hit by a gust with 10minutes left for my one hour and could not stay in control at all and got slammed, it took me 3 minutes to get up again(damit thats over 1 knot off the hour) with a 5.6 out of control I'd call it pushing 40. 

Dave its your fault! You planted the 300 seedin my head!

If I knew Evets had 310 for 2011, I might have just stuck at it for that last run

Yes Jez, you need to get up when the alarm goes off, dont hit the snooze button and get on the road. Who did that Hyundi Getz belong to that was parked at Mortimer Nice report Kaleb, I am feeling the effects of the 7.0 today though. PS went to the loo when I got home and I am now 27kg lighter

Dave, we both know that if you didnt have to go to the airport you would have kept going. I'm very greatful you HAD to leave, or I might have been feeling a whole lot worse as the sun went down and you refuse to leave the water until I do.  That was one chance to pay you back for last year when you snuck those few extras in after we all left

Grats to all those kilometres:-) Yeah the cold doesn't help to clock up those k's.... but thats a hell awesome efforts!!!! Wish I was there:-(

Kaleb I cannot believe the conditions you sailed in. Mine was really cruisy compared to that. I hate sailing in cold conditions: anyting under 15 is pretty cold, single figures is really unpleasant.Have you tries a camel back? I cannot do distance without one as I get cramp. Also I stick a muesli bar or two in my float coat so I can eat ocassionally.

p.s. when I said 2 over 300 I meant you have 2 over 300, that is remarkable commitment. Only Kato has more at 4, 4 including you with 2. Who will be first to 5? Kato is the obvious leader
