Steve Charles (7892km):
4851 days ago Stupid GPS. Only had one GPS today and the only info on there was the 207km (lucky for some reason that was on there or I would be in tears). Had a good 1hr and NM. At least Dave and Kaleb will have good scores. Sailed at Mortimer Bay, Isonic 107, C3 40cm Sting, Reflex 2 7.0. On the water at 6am and sailed till 12.30pm. Well done to everyone who went out today. Super windy at times, the Reflex 7.0 was handling 30 plus kots at times (great sail).

Good fun today, with four of us braving the elements before dawn. Aim was to do 200 km, but Kaleb kept going Well done on a real solid set of numbers Kaleb!! Fantastic effort. Great to see a PB from Russ and Steve as well!!
I nearly rigged the 7.0 and 107, but decided on the 6.2 and 86 with 34cm Venom. Was good for the first few hours, but too much time off the plane in the lulls so changed to the 107. The 6.2 felt good on the 107 with a 42cm StingII. Quite rough and windy at times.

Up early with Kaleb Dave and Steve I think they are still out there.
Fun sail with the boys. I enjoyed my fist sail on the Naish sp ltd 95 2010 it is so fun I just kept sailing. choppy and gusty to say the least.
Happy to finally crack a 100km the boys are going for 200 and i think they will make it.
Steve is the legend of the day on his 107 with a 7.0 some of the wind was so overpowered on my 6.6m
Managed to hit the only object in the water and take 25mm off my fin!!! still worked ok but made bearing off a bit of a challange.
tried now need Beer!!!!!
KA Koncept 6.6 naish sp lth 95 fin delta 33 now 29!!

Well what a day and all for the wrong reasons. Had the alarm set early to go to Mortimer with the other guys but when I woke it was pouring with rain, so thought no chance of getting in with the van so hit the snooze button a couple of 10 times haha
Headed for the lagoon and got there about 7.30ish was windy on and off but not a great angle and swinging all the time, so only got a few runs in, did a lot of sitting around and talking, so then around 1 decided to go to Dorans.
Damo and Brett were there half rigged and trying to decide whether to go out as the wind was on & off and swinging in direction but they ended up hitting the water after a while. I sat in the car and then decided since I was still in the wetty that I would re-rig and hit the water with them as the wind was a bit more consistent. Well this is where the fun began.
On the first run over towards the police academy the wind was cranking and I was fully powered up on the 5.8 then all of a sudden I went over a big bit of chop and the rig just collapsed, I thought I had broken a mast but then I saw the board just take off down wind and out of sight, the board still had the uni in it as it had come out of the extension. Decision stay with the rig or ditch the rig and try and chase the board down, didn’t know what to do since I was so far away from the shore. I decided to stay with the rig as I would have lost it for sure and I knew that I had a chance of finding the board washed up on the rocks later on.
Had to swim with the rig for about 1km until I was finally in the shallows, then had to wade over to the rocks dump the rig and start the mission of finding the board, found it eventually washed up on the rock, waded it back to the sail and over two hours later I was back to the car. Interesting times..
