Come back last night and never checked forecast!! Wake up this morning around 7, was making a coffee and realised there was wind blasting outside!! Jumped on the computer to check the forecast Surprised, fffffffffffk quick we got an openning.. perfect tide, wind west... crab my stuff rushed to the beach.. no one for the first hour. Greeeat surprise session even the wind in the first part was up and down but stronger. I had to used 3 boards!! Just missed an Alpha PB Cry, I thought I had it!!! I was expecting to see few people down here.. Wink Mr Locky wouddav done 40 today!! Near the end as the wind was dropping, the tide too, it was getting dangerous.. I touched the bottom few times!!

Well done Sam and Rob, I should have made the effort to get out early, but I'm not that keen on speed sailing by myself. Simon gave me the call about 3pm, by the time we were in the water there wasn't much left. Elmo killed what little we had by rigging up, Simon and I had a long slog back. Much harder for Simon though he was on a sinker. While we were rigging a nice gust came through and I was tempted to use the 53cm, fortunately sense prevailed and I used bigboard.

Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU dying SW in the 12-18knt range

F2 SX68, ReflexII 7.0m, 34cm FO weedster

Nice arvo sesh. Pity the wind died as the the tide was low so the water was dead smooth (i'm talking smoother that Alpha land on a good day).

The first bare away i hit a stingray in shin deep water. i managed to avoid going over the front. On the way back up wind i hit another one. The place was full of themSurprised. Spewing the wind died as ithe tide was pefect for alpha cove today and i could have backed up Sammy

Good work on the PBs Rob- more to come soon I'm sure. Sam great to see you got some action down there. Was really tempted since I was up at 6:30 this morning, but didnt think it was going to come in so strong so I stayed local on the big gear. Was a bit spewing I made the wrong call when the wind came in and I got smashed on my 8.6m!

Glynn, just as we thing summetrs coming, another storm comes through, but yes it is warming up, could have got away with a springy the last few sails.

Tom, I've heard good and bad about C3s don't rush into them, I think something like, they're good in dead flat water, but are liable to spin out in chop.

May depend on the board they're put in and your sailing style.

Thanks Mike. Getting desperate before a big summer. Still havent got a fin I can trust, that peforms. AhhhhYell. Want to buy something that will get me going than i will work on boxing and shaping, but havent really sailed a good fin yet. Sams offered his a couple of times, but the box on my iso's too small. They just dont fit!! No sure how much power and lift should be expecting?!?!

Once I get an idea of what a reasonable fin feels like can go from thereSmileSealed

Have heard much about the Vector speed fins?
