Chris Porter (8173km): Woooooohooooo! A very solid breeze this arvo after work at Sanctuary Point. Felt like 23 - 33 knots with some real punchy bullets. A great breeze for speed sailing, but the rolling chop made it a bit dangerous, as I found out (much to the amusement of the locals). I also entertained with some comical stacks trying to enter my gybes at 30 knots. A sore neck and a new hole in my sail, but still carrying a big smile with an alpha PB. Even my 2nd best alpha was a PB! CA SP47; Ram F8 5.4; FO Weed 260
Windxtasy (2881km): Melville Beach, WA, AU 18 - 22 knots My fave combo 85 Sonic + 5.8 Koncept and 28 FO weedie. Whoo Hoo! Passed the 28 knot mark at last. Surprising. I kept looking at the GPS thinking it must be 26. something because it didn't feel that fast. Why is it the fast runs don't feel all that fast? A good workout and a few whoo hoo moments. Looking at my top 5's it was a good session. 1 PB, a second best, and two third bests.
scarrgo (6801km): South of perth yaght club, WA, AU had to take my sis to sailing so thought i might as well go for a windsurf with the 6.2 out of action at the moment had the choice of 5.0 or 7.0 i was tricked a bit and thought there wasn't that much wind and therefore rigged the 7.0 was very powered up but the reflex just showed me why i like them so much and with a few tweaks she seatled right down but was very choppy everywhere even over at peli and couldn't get over the bank thanks to the weed, tried once but didn't go so well had some good blasting with peter mac and jake ( who were on 5.6 and 5.7 sails ) sailed upwind, racing against the sis and the other 420's for a bit then had the mission to get back downwind without going through a wave and over the front, made it with some near misses congrats on the PB anita 30's gettin closer snides and troutty came out later too once again on 6.2 and 6.5 sails can't believe the control in the reflex need to get a softer fin though the 32 carbon thingy is way too hard on the legs in that nasty chop 7.0 reflex, 85 sonic, 32 ? pointer
lao shi (27489km): Late session after the W word. Forgot how physical a Woodies sesh is. Wind was South so getting in to the run with any speed was hard. Wind didn't seem to be as strong as expected and never really got the lorch flying. Probably would have gone better on the old girl. Nice to have the chance to play with mast base settings and get some cruisy 10 sec runs. Straps are next to get the board feeling right.
Huge alpha PB for Chris of over a knot and his second best of the day a PB too! A really smooth corner with a min speed of 16.4! Sorry I couldn't produce the back up. Was already on the water when your text came through. Windxtasy, woohoo!! over half a knot jump in 2sec. What was your display speed? More to come. Snake! No Gps! I stayed till shark o'clock trying to get my average up thinking I had to try and back you up! Oh well |
