Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

6.0m NCX Severne, 86 iSonic, 30cm

Great (albeit short) social session - Great turnout -

Feeling a little guilty (and so should you Drift and Moondo) for kneeling low in the water having a chat, giving the impession that we were in deep water ....not! and a fly-by sailor (I think Dicko) came a cropper at about 25knots thinking that the water was deep. It was an absolute speckie - thank you for the entertainment. (if you've still a headache - I can highly recommend a single malt - it's working for me!!)

Fantastic day! Easterly all day. Lots of big lulls, but big blasts, too. Started off very choppy, but flattened out a lot as the tide went out and the sandbars were exposed. Lorch 93L and ancient KA Predator 5.3 with a missing cam. Around thirty sailors today - incredible sight. Lots of great company - thanks everyone. Hey just noticed - 4 PBs. Nice surprise (thanks for the 2 second peak PB, Simon).

Big day.  Had intended to do a morning session and then head to the surf beach this arvo.  Was just enjoying blasting around too much!!  Very happy with my distance.  Just didnt have the juice left to get that last 10km's out.  Realised i only ate a banana & an apple all day.  With a bit of lunch 200 is easily doable.

Wind really filled in late and Kato, Ado & I went for a few NM's.  Turns out the channel we were running is about 1-200m short of a NM.  Absolutely spewing, i was holding 32's for 10sec on the couple of goes we had, so would have been a pb NM for sure... ah well.  Surprised my speed isnt higher - the best wind was late and by that time i was just too stuffed to really have a go at it.  Pretty happy with that 1 hr too, it consisted of a number of dropped gybes and i had to clear the fin of weed a number of times.  Overall a great day.  Havent seen 45 that crowded ever.  Great to have so many sailors on the water.

Only got to use the GPS for the morning session and then the battery went flat. I went heaps faster in the arvo session on the exposed banks.

Great day anyhow with heaps of sailors at 45

Wind E 20kts gusting 25kts

Big turn up, 14 Busters, 6 Bonos and 6 Pit Crew plus a few IWC members.

Boys and girls where playing and my excuse was I was learning!  Kept on missing the back strap because it is so far outboard.  Massive offs because I was putting too much back foot pressure and spin outs.  But I learnt something off Pete the Postman today.  Turn it down wind, power it up, into the straps then drive it.  It helped heaps Pete, thanks

Sailed at the secret spot near inverloch,  lucky there was no one there to see the slight stack i had when it got a little shallow,

managed to get some data off one GPS,

Well done to all the PB's on such a gusty day,

Fanatic Cross 110, Tush storm 5.5, 34 fanatic freeride fin

What a day: great weather, great wind and good company; at least 30 sailors on the water.

Sailing with much greater control, with adjustments to the set up helping. Even started to work out how to jibe, just gotta work out that flippy thing with the sail.

LOCATION: AREA 45

WIND:  E- 15-20 kts peak 25

TIDE:  LOW OUTGOING

GEAR:  CA FR77, C3 40cm, KA KOYOTE 5.9

DETAILS:  Standing room only at the "secret" Area 45!.  A flock of Pit Crew, and a school of Bonnos came down to play.

Great conditions with the crescent bank becoming nice and smooth on the low tide.  The wind had its moments, but generally was nice and fresh.

In a bizarre twist of events, I managed to get stung by a bee in the middle of the Inlet.  WTF???

Bummer, couldn't trump my previous PB (30 kots) on same rig. I guess I just have to think less, suck up the goolies and bear away.

Thats is, i'll blame it on the the  GoPro up the mast. Has nothing to to do with "gonad size"

Although I didnt beat my last PB, it was still the best day of windsurfing I 've had in years. Nice constant breeze, flat warm water, sunshine, great mates,  and a sandbar each end.

Wellington point Brisbane now ranks a distant second for me in terms of locations.

Thanks for the encoragement Doug and Pete.

I think is was a good decision not to rig big given that I haven't sailed in so long. Looking back at the Go Pro footage I'm suprised I even got to 25 knots! My stance was all wrong, stomping my back foot ect... Did manage to capture a great catapault and good footage of what it's like looking back.

Red, even though there were lots out there, at no time did it feel crowded.

Well done everyone!!

Awesome effort Southerly Busters!

Glad we had a few Bonno Blasters there to share such a good day on the water.

20 pb's in 1 session must be some sort of a record, I'd guess.

Dan, you were going back and forth like a train. We had a look at you, Pete and Kato down at the further sand bar, just before we drove off and it looked like the 3 of you were flying across the inlet. I would love to have seen you knock over that 200km mark.

We'd certainly come back on that direction wind.

Thanks Pete... it was a good day... Sshh don't tell him but I'm thinking of getting him 'chipped up' for his birthday in May.  Although the little bugger will probably outscore me on his first run !  lol Embarassed

Well done everyone on posting a mammoth day of PB's... good to share the day with the other crews too.

Mrs Fireman Sam took quite a few photos... I'm going to post up on Seabreeze tomorrow, if you see yourself PM me and I'll get any other photos of you by email or DVD etc...
