ratz (2075km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU a quick blast at the local after nightshift. should really be sleeping but the wind too tempting. way too messy on the high tide for any fast speeds but good fun anyway. iso 94. severne r 2 techtonics goldwing 34.
Doddi (2847km): Quick sail at Boomba's with Stropp ,Decrep , Elmo , Sms, an Matty Langer, Good fun sail. great to seek potential of new spots. Great to see Decrep out on his new toy. he looked happy.
Decrepit (22059km): Yeeeeeeehargh!!!! Got to try the new board, very pleased with it, Keif's straps are fantastic. Going to take me a while to get it fully dialled in, no room for error in the gybes, but I'm pleased with the alpha, wasn't really trying for it so went upwind on the exit. Harder to water start, but that will come with TOW.
Used the 19.5 45deg fine in the flater parts. but I spun out in a choppy section and corked my left thigh on the rail, that slowed me down a tad. Fastest run was with the 6.0 before the tide and wind came in, just couldn't get as comfortable with the 5.3.
Rod (2664km): a real lack of wind at yoyo's but i finally got to sail Lake preston
Elmo (15665km): JP Speed 54, NP RSR Eii 6.2m, Elmo chopbuster 28cm Last one on the water tonight (must be the only one in Perth who must have worked today) all the boys were very happy and telling me that the wind was strong and that it looked like it would turn nasty soon and that I shouldn't go to far, said I'd go looking for Shane as he looked to be having some issues. Whilst waiting for the realy strong wind to build up strength to lift my really fat arse out of the water, mat Langer came back with a smile which could be seen a couple a hundred metres away, he seemed realy disapointed???? with a 39.9 on his GPS and he thought a 37Nm Some people are just never happy Eventually after almost going back to the car to swap over to the 65 Slalom the wind eventually picked up enough to get me going, was quite nice passed Shane as he eventually got going to head back, took of into Boomba's and went the naughty, it was nice but was of and on the power the whole run, eventually flagged the run (just managed to get the Nm in) gybed into nothing spent the next 5 mins trying to get going, pinched nerve in my neck making it none to pleasant to get going, eventually Doddi's water taxi and rescue service turned up and gave me a lift back, tried to get going a couple of time on the way back but to no avail. So only one run tonight, very nice to get out and see lots of smiles on the crew.
Thoughts go out to Yoyo who may be spending a night in hospital tonight anfter being bitten on the ankle by a snake derigging, there were unfounded rumours about him being attacked by a shark as well but they may have started by me
Thanks Crasher | ||||||||||||||||||

Bender (19030km): Lake Preston, WA, AU CA50, Reflex3 6.2m, 23KA sym Long day left home at 5.30am and got home at 5.30pm. Once again BOM got it all wrong. It stayed NNE all day. Never really big enough gusts to really wind up. I'm kicking my self i didn't slingshot into the best gust i felt today but i was too concerned in making ground to windward. Sailing underpowered and underfinned all day was hard work. At least i was faster than SnidesAll in all it was great day catching up with the crew and way better than working
sms09 (2087km): Peel Inlet, WA, AU tested crashers nude 55/23fin. tr6 5.1 one long run by the time got to the flat stuff,forearms where shot, slowly started heading back to base called it quits. good to try out a different board/fin combo, and again to be out on the water |
