Hardie (20239km): Extremely dissaopinting day abot 8 hours effort driving rigging derigging about 4to 5 hours in the water, for about 15 mins of decent wind. YoYo's is not worth the effort, unless it is gonna be an all day forecast of 30 to 40 knots, Too gusty, gusts last only a few seconds and can't be truly exploited. One decent gust the whole day, wish I'd been on my missile for that one. Congrats to Crasher what a man on a 74cm wide board, and well done to bender who planed more than anyone, he probably had the best set up of the day. Elmo (15665km): NP RS4 6.2m F2 SX M, Techtonics Goldwing 34cm (thanks Ben) , JP Slalom G10 32cm. JP Slalom Pro II 84L, Choco Mach 1 28cm. The planets all seemed to be in allignment so I took a days annual leave to to go down to WAFTAE (I refuse to sully Yoyo's good name by refering to it as Yoyo's) but as per usual even with the planets in allignment this mongrell place which shows so much potential once again dudded us big time. I shall now refer to this shit hole as WAFTAE which stands for WASTE OF FUCKING TIME AND EFFORT, I would have had more fun run a cheese grater up and down my love tackle! I can't describe how much this place pisses me of. I would have had more fun at work. If some some strange reason my faculties once again leave me and I stupidly decide to sail there again I GIVE EVERYONE PERMISSION TO WALK UP TO ME AND SLAP ME HARD, IF I CARRY ON RIGGING KICK ME IN THE GOOLIES (it will be far more pleasureable). Congrats to Crasher and Hardie who managed to pick up the only squall of the day and post some reasonable speeds
Decrepit (22059km): I'm a bit dissapointed with my speeds, but I did spend time changing boards and rigs. Think I managed to miss going dowwind in the best gusts. But at least we've improved our alpha score a bit.
started off with waihu, 6.0 tushy, with crashers 26cm pointer, should have stayed on this combo a bit longer. then my speed board with 5.2 tushy, haven't made a pointer for this board yet, and my assyweedy was the wrong way round for the wind direction. Changed to the Thommen speed board, this felt great when powered up, but I'm getting too old to be wallowing around underwater, trying to get going.
Crasher kindly lent me his smaller manta, which was ideal for the conditions, but the wind had dropped so didn't get a good go on it. De-rigging in the dark wasn't fun, Crasher morphed into florence nightingale, turned his vehicle lights on and gave everybody a hand. Thanks again mate.
Bender (19030km): Iso86, X-15 6.4m, 26F1 Fun arvo with the mob. Pity the forecast never came true EDIT: Thought i better expand on todays session as everyone else has. Started on the 86/6.4m and 32F1. Got some good runs. Today my kit felt really good. The 32cm was spot on to get me up and going but as the water was so smooth it was railing upo a bit in the gusts. I got some 29's and one 30knt run. I then switched to the 26F1, moved my mast rack back an straight away got a 31. i am amazed how well the 26F1 went with the 6.4m. Towards the end the wind kicked a bit and i did two runs on my 5.2m. It was crap as the wind was too gusty and short lived to make using such a small sail fun. Glad i didnt rig the 5.8 as i had wanted to but thanks to Elmo he talked me out of it. I had a short blat on Crashers kit. What a blast a 6.6m on a 74cm wide board(felt very similar to my old hypersonic). It felt good even through a huge tail walk i felt in control. I liked his TR-4 very much.Oh and i got a 31knt run on it.
Doddi (2847km): looks like we have a fight, cheese grater versus orgasms, maybe just CGO |
