Decrepit (22059km): hoped to improve 1hr, NM and alphas today, but wind was too inconsistent, may have improved NM slightly, we'll see when the others post.

Adam (7212km): JP Super X 116 NP V8 7.0 Lessacher Chamelion 28cm very gusty day at hardies timed a few runs just right for my peak speeds Max display was 33.00 knots also had some scary tailwalking unable to sheet in moments Good last session as work is sending me away for a few months with a lot of time to be spent in Darwin Good to see so many people out braving the cold for a session in the middle of winter
Elmo (15665km): JP Supersport Pro 118L, NP RS Slalom II 7.2m, JP Freeride Weed G10 36cm. Yyyyyyeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh Was the last to hit the water in what to looked to be a feast or famine type of session. First run out and I was one happy little muppet belted straight across the bay as happy as can be with a big shit eating grin on my face Sailed back to the home side of the pond with the wind dropping out chugged back out wind disappearing headed back to shore having to flapp the sail to get the last 200m's still smilling. Next squall came through about 20 mins later, Yyyyyyeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh The 7.2 was nicely lit up the board triming nicely, Extremely happy muppet The run back the wind is coming in considerably harder Yyyyyyeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh Sail was getting a bit of a mind of it's own, but jeeze was it fun, watched Adam come across behind me pulling endless wheelies, you could see the smile on his face from miles away. Stared doing short runs as the 7.2 was a tad large for the wind strength, Nailed my best Alpha in the middle chicken gybing in front of a big gust I didn't want to hit May not have been the fastest out there today, but I got to think I was one of the happiest
Bender (19030km): F2SX M, x-15 7.7m, 34@45deg bentonic Fun cold day. Was waaaaayyyyyyy over powerd and slogging at other times. Spent most of the time tuning my new 2008 X-15. It was a fun till the red fury monster showed up and proceded to kick my arse. Good fun had by all.
nebbian (8209km): Unpowered boat ramp, testing out Crasher's Tabou Manta. 6.8 Loft Blade, JP 31 and Select 37 weedy. Was hoping for a dawn sail -- I got there at 7am but managed to forget my wetsuit, so went home then came back, and then when I turned the GPS on it told me "Low battery"! So I left it to charge in the car while I had an hour of sailing. In the end I was rigging as the sun came up... so close and yet so far! I'll watch the sun rise through my sail one day. That manta is amazing, it gets planing in nothing, and glides through lulls of even less. When powered up it sort of glides over the chop, like a magic carpet. Very nice board The highlight of the day was right at the end when I was slogging along near Binny, and I saw some dolphins playing around near her. They came over to me and rode my bow wave for a couple of minutes. I didn't think that a windsurfer would displace enough water to make it worth their while, but they were having a great time, swimming around the board, breathing just in front of it, one even touched the board with its tail... I was buzzing for an hour afterwards. We truly do live in a lucky country
evets (10573km): I must have been somewhere else from Nebs, Elmo, Snides and the others. Isonic 105, Tush Raptor 6.5 and JP36 weedy Launched 1pm and derigged 3pm. Never really comfortable, kept going downwind trying for speed and ended up walking back. Not sure what I was doing wriong but today was not a lot of fun. Partly this is made up of being the other side of the estuary as high wind went through and I could not get restarted, then not enough to water start etc.
Sammy (16210km): today any sizes will do! 8 to 22 knots at SBay Too lazy to go in Mandurah and wind to unsettled, and wanted to try Wl'y in SBay When setting up my biggest sail (6.7m) I hurt my back really bad and should not have go sailing but still went, I thought hurting for hurting lets do it, now I can barely walk and on pain killer! But I had fun, even around 2.30 the wind dropped when I was a couple miles away near the Island , I was a bit scared to get stucked out there.. I managed to stay upright until the wind came back 20 mins later. The run back to the beach was great as the water was so flat mmmh I don't think it will be any sailing for me tomorrow! iSo 86L, 6.7 RS, 34 samade weedy |
