Easterly missed the best of it, got there too late, so did Alpha practice instead, and got my best Alpha on an Easterly eva!! , and ended up really enjoying the session TR-4 6.3m Tabou Manta 54 (best gybing board eva) SS 23.5cm (Great Fin Sammy)

Was about to crank a 25kt Alpha , when I noticed King Pedro Team Captain of SRM & Fierce Rival standing right in the gybing area, I made a split second decision that I couldnt afford to let him get that close a look at my alpha technique and deliberately sabotaged the gybe, its a very tuff & uncompromising competition the GTCWink

Houston. we have a stiffyEmbarassedCool

Went to bed last night with the wind rattling the roof and expectations of having to rig a sub 6m sailSurprised, but the best laid plans of mice and muppetsUndecided.

Internal alarm woke me this morning, flicked an eye open, big mistake, got a ripper headache, lifted my head of the pillow... oh dear that was another mistakeCry, wandered around the housefor a bit couldn't stomach the idea of breaky and having to taste it again in about an hours time, check the computator only 10-11 knots, wandered around a bit more finally psyched myself up to get going knowing my beloved would only tell me to go sailing anyway.

Got down the run to see Sammy walking his gear out on a lot lower tide, watched him for a while saw he was ripping along in true Sammy style, decided to rig the 6.7 and the SS if it was worth it then I could allways slot on the speed board.

Pedro rocked up after I'd rigged gave the word on Decrepit-YoyoLand and headed out, YeafarkenharCoolCoolCool I got the power!!!CoolCool 2 gybes upwind and ready to rumble, straight over the sand bar and into it, The big shit eating grinLaughing was backCoolCool, first run a 34CoolCoolCool

The SS was a rocking out there today got the setting real nice so it would just float over the chop, Sammy was consitantly pulling 34's and 35's but felt he would have been better with a weight jacket but the he had a chronic case of the big shit eater as well.

Pedro then came over called the place Latte Land as the water looked just like one with all the mud being stired up, gave a bit more advise about lines with the final comment " If you hit something don't go that way next time", he took of in true Pedro fashion and smoked us bothCool

Evets was also blasting around with us out there having some fun

Lots of smiles and runs out there today on another ball tearer session.CoolCoolCool

Not without incident thoughSurprised the wildlife was a bit feral today,

Sammy was hunted by a crab doing a sneak attack whilst he was just standing there

I hit what I thoought was a rock i the middle of a run which gave a sharp crack and shifted me forward a bit, pulled out of the run stoped to check the fin, not a mark on it, grabbed hold of it and found it was looseSurprised, strongly suspect that I slice and diced a fish, going to have to repalce the barel nut in the fin now.

Muppeted one of many gybes in a deeper patch of waterput my foot down on something BIGSurprised and hard which didn't appreciate me putting one of my size 9's on it as it kicked back, squeeled like a big biatch and just about lept out of the water.

High light of the day for wild life though was when heading back out looked up to see an osprey flying about 20m overheadCoolCoolCoolCoolCoolCoolCool absolutely gorgeousCoolCoolCool

Sammy that was a stonkin run back accross the bayCoolCoolCool thats my Nm

Great fun, headaches still there but worse but I don't care as I've still got that grinCoolCoolCoolCoolCool

Awesome fun

Hardies-easterly CoolSmileCoolSmileCoolSmileCoolSmileCoolSmile Rigged up at down, hit the water at 6.15... just cruising at first, then quickly filled in!!

Fantastic session with Perdro and Elmo, fallowed by Evets.... This as to be my best easterly session ever and one of my best sailing this summer Cool. Absolute solid wind with nice long gust.... I am still buzzzzing, just faaaaaaaaaaab!!! Taking turn down the run, absolute smoking sesh with Elmy. Could have done better if used my 44 or weight jacket.. Many time had to back off because overboard!!

Super stocked with the numbers, with less that a knt between the 2s nd 5x10 and a great NMTongue out. It just show how stable was the condition!! Great to watch the big boys belting down. WELL DONE Elmy on the big kit Cool , you the MAN.. Awesome Pet for taking the day. My NM is the longest leg going down the channel Wink

Bunbury, WA, AU Koombana Bay in a 20=35knt easterly

CASL52, rsr evo2 6.2m, 27kinetic 25custom

I have wanted to try the cut beach in a strong easterly for a while. now It is straight off shore so i thought it would be pretty flat.

Launched from the dolphin beach sailed up wind to the cut.  It soon became clear there was no flat water and instead it was waist high vertical faced chop/waves coming in all direction. I did one run dowm the beach and found the wind was way too patchy. BOM showed it was gusting from 15-38knts while i was out and it felt like it. So over all it was not much fun. The 2sec max felt like 40knts as i got it on the down wind run back to the car in the middle of the bay. The whole time i was on the edge of crashing and yep 10secs later i did. Tripped a rail and down i went. No damage but i'm a bit stiff and sore nowCool

The cut beach is in the top right of the pic. As ypou can see the bay was rather choppyYell

Yep it sure was WINDY!!!!!!!

Temptation got the better of me so I hit Safet bay to see if my foot could handle it, unfortunately another day or two is required I cannot drive off the back foot on Stbd tack and the chop was hurting like buggery on PortCry
