Gaz (11396km): Green Island, CA53, Talon 32, 7.5 Koncept, 12-15 knots. Very dissapointing day, hugely underpowered then the tide was too low so had too walk about 100 meters over the reef to get out of Arlington Reef. Once over the reef there wasn't enough wind to get going and ended up getting trashed on the some bommies resulting in a torn sail and Cam's fin looking a bit second hand. Cam convinced me to go out on his big gear later but couldn't get comfortable with the 8.6 RSR. Think I have got too used to the lightness of my own gear.
dr cam (16004km): Green Island, QLD, AU SE 12-17 ,seas slight ,outgoing tide . Graph had 22-26 S on Arlington when we left home at 730 this morning so naturally we were pumped.South is the perfect wind direction for 12klms of down wind blasting along the Reef Margin Rigged the RSR E2 7.8 RRD 90 l X fire 38 venom with the goal of sailing over to Arlington ,spending an hr & then cruising back for a low tide session on the Northern Run . Wind was pathetic -just dont know where the published figures come from .Really needed a 9m2 with a 120+ litre board today .... AHHRRRr After lunch session was on the 8.6 E2 & 105 with 42 Talon but really had lost interest by then ...
Locky (1833km): magic day, havent seen the sun like that in months! water was nice and the sun was warm. headed out to arlington reef for some flat water cruising, when the reef got too shallow we returned to green and had some fun in chest deep water with a sandy bottom 94L isonic, 7.o rs racing NP |
