hoppy (4588km): Stansbury, SA, AU Sputnik, 6.6 KA , 30 weedy 10-15knots southerly
Had a post christmas sail with the lads, Tricky, Pete and Jason. And a couple of frothies after made it an enjoyable afternoon.
Tricky (3458km): Hop Skip & jump at Stansbury arrived with the tide too far in for any flat water & the wind was less than at home, it seemed the closer we got to Stansbury the less the wind got Got my peak on the first run out & the wind never got any better was just a nice session. Jeff shouted the beers afterwards, Lifes Good! CA SL 101 6.6 Koncept 36 lessacher duo weedie never fully powered up strugged to get back on the plan on some runs.
Trousers (944km): Boggy Lake, SA, AU (100lt, 6.0m, 32.5cm) Arrived 2pm, noone else there so rigged up expecting to go solo, but then Norm and another bloke rocked up followed by Gareth. The wind picked up over the two hours I sailed with serious chop to contend with on the port tack and only a touch better up the reed bank. so i had my mast foot forward again, holding the nose down at the sacrifice of pace. had trouble with my port side carve gybes today, the launch area was very choppy and at a bad angle to try and introduce the rail. but outside starboard gybes were happening, so i practiced laydown technique and found it put me in a really strong and fast exiting position and got me an alright corner for the day (my goal is to do a 22kts corner this summer...getting close!!). must investigate this technique more. another good session, loving this summer sailing. if lake George got similar conditions today, there'll be some good numbers fer shiz.
Norman Clarke (3615km): Boggy Lake, SA, AU Must have been about 17 to 24 knots - way above what the BOM predicted so rigged my 6m Gaastra Vapor on the 94 ISonic and 31 SL Had a great session even though the fitness is not great after the recent time out from w/surfing. Found some nice flat water on the southern side next to the reed beds. Good to catch up with Shane, Gareth and Michelle, Tony from the Barossa and Michael.
Sam Doecke (16626km): | ||||||||||||||||||
SWS (1329km): BOM got the forcast wrong the wind was gusting 25 knots at boggy, Norm and shane headed to the reed bank i stayed on this side to keep an eye on michelle but was able to get some runs between the chop. At first I though I had underestimated the wind and had to work to get going then the winded kicked in hard and I was lucky to get some good runs. Hot sails maui GP2 7.3, Patrik Freeride 145, Black project Freeride 38.

Carl Macdonald (18593km): Day 1 lake George road trip with Sam. By the time we got there, set up camp and rigged it was late afternoon and the wind picked up to 12 - 15 knots. Headed out and had a quick sesh in a dying breeze. The water level is shallow and the water is flat and weed is growing nicely. Wind picked up late but we had called it quits and had our baby wipe showers. Lake George - 12 - 15 knots. Isonic 86 / 7m loft blade / Black Project R325 fin. |
