hoppy (4588km): Stansbury, SA, AU AB67, 6.6 KA, 30 weedy southerly 5-10knots till after lunch then a slooooow build up to 15-20 late. Went sailing with Tricky with the intention of sailing km's today but should have packed the 8.4 north as much of the time was spent floating slowly enjoying the tranquil setting of the day. On the other hand there was Richard planing nicely with his set up, determined to reach his km goal for the day. Jason ( Tricky's lad ) was out with his 17meter kite and 3 finned race board doing about 25knots in 8 knots of wind, having a blast. Persisted though and was eventually rewarded with some 12-15 knot breeze over dead flat water and the AB 67 took off. Continued the session but was sailing flat and came in early to stand on the lawn with Jason and Anthony and watch Tricky who was sailing like a man possesed. Cheers
Tricky (3458km): Mission 100+ Forcast 14 - 17 sounded GR8 Hit the water as tide change & wind disappeared hour & a half later I had clocked up an Impressive 10 NM looks like the mission had floundered. A slowly building sea breeze had me on the plane & cruzing! Had some nice runs on the glass water doing 20knts in 10k wind. Thankfully the wind built a bit & started to clock up some KM’s Stayed on the go to hit 80 NM even though the 2-3 ft chop was a handful with the 7.9KA Race at the end of the session Jeff was looking comfy on his 6.6 compared to my hand full on the Big Kit Stansbury CA SL120 KA Race 7.9 36 Lessacher Duo Weed
Kimba (5126km): Solo mission to Boggy. Everyone in the team seems to be down at Lake George at the moment! Great first sail on the Mr L 112 and V-Max 39, they seem to go well together. Used my carp kit again without incident although I saw about 5 breaching nearby. I think this is a 7.8 PB at Boggy... Boggy Lake SSW 15-20, MrL 112, Evo4 7.8, V-max 39
Carl Macdonald (18593km): Day 2 of road trip with Sam to Lake George. Windy through the night (almost lifted my tent off the ground) but by the time we got on the water it had dropped. We glugged around and then waited for the hopeful arvo seabreeze. In the arvo it picked up to 12 - 15 knots but the most gusty, painless wind i have ever seen at Lake George. Managed a to catch a couple of gusts in between glugging but couldn't even manage 5 good runs. Not a good day to try out new Black Project 31 weed speed but a least had one powered run to try it. Lake George - 12 - 15 knots. Isonic 86 / 7m loft blade / Black Project 31 weed speed. |
