4374 days ago Booti Booti, NSW, AU. A lovely NE 15 - 22 knots started early, but lighter inshore so speedy strip a bit further out and a bit choppy. Much stronger out the back. Good fun with lots of friends sailing. 6 Marauders in total and a few others made for a great day. 6m GTX and Carbon Art 91L a good combo.

Great day out on water today.Started with a NE wind at about 15-20k and some 22k gusts inshore with about 22-25k out the back.Tide wasn't with us today.Mid tide coming up to high for the afternoon. With the wind a bit gusty and patchy inshore, but choppier further out and a bit stronger.
Sailed with Martin, Veronica, Chris, Rob, Adam, and then joined by Geoff and Matt later on.Missed Pete today.Hope your back gets better soon!
Started with GTX 6.5 with SL104 Select Viper slam32, then swapped for the SL79 and Vector27 Weedspeed for some nicer runs in and out over the weed bank. I changed again for some time out the back and a few ramps.Hawk 93LTD.Curtis 26.5 wave and Poison 4.7.Great time with Matty out there, but I'd had enough after another 30 or 40 mins. .Needed to pace myself for a sail over the next couple of days.
GO MARAUDERS!!!.
HAVE A FABULOUS NEW YEAR'S EVE EVERYONE!!!

awesome sail , used the 5.5m gps sail , way underpowered just need to strech it , awesome to sail with a small sail again , greg had a much better sail up wind and the 6.6m gps hotsails maui was the right choice

Got down to forster about 2ish - damn it was busy getting over the bridge and through town - dunno how the locals do it everyday this time of year, must drive them insane.
My mission today was to test out a Maui Ultra Delta Slalom 23cm fin in my big board to see if it was appropriate to purchase one. Some have made comment that these fins don't work on bigger wider tailed boards.......I am pleased to say that I don't agree with this. It wasn't all rosey, for the first hour I wanted to give it a chance and was hating the fin as it felt draggy and slow with not much in the way of lift. I shifted the mast track back 2cm, and the board and fin came to life, however I still dont think the Delta felt as fast in the big board as my 38cm FO Weedy. I am pleased to report that the delta fin went upwind way better than a normal weedy, in fact I would say that this was a highlight, and although the water was quite choppy on the inside due to the high tide, and rolling swell out the back, I only spun out twice, and it was easily corrected. The poor point is gybing - it gets pretty funky with the gybes and it all happens in S.....L.....O.....W..... motion - as if slalom boards aren't hard enough to gybe anyway. Would I buy one? I can see merrits but will stick with my normal weedys for now. I will give it another shot tho when the wind is more fired up and consistent
Nice day on the water with the Booti locals. Charles from port came down too and was sailing well.
Given the rougher water state and patchy wind on the inside I wish that I had brought the freestyle gear to go bump and jumping out the back....I wont forget next trip!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
