Point Walter, WA, AU

Super gusts, pretty smooth on the little bit of flat water at the end of the sand bar, just had to time it with the gust.

My wrists were so bad I couldn't make a gybe all day.

Great sailing with Mark and Sean.

Wallyworld.

Got down there @ 7.45 and it was nuking.  Pulled out the 5.8 and it crapped out.

Went home and the breeze returned.  Moped around feeling sorry for myself until the missus told me to piss off and get my fix.  Got back down there @ noon.

90 XFire + 6.6 TR7 + 32 goldwing.

Combo was sweet.  Scored a few nice gusts on the flats but had to earn them, bloody hard work getting upwind in the extremely gusty conditions.  After water-starting a dozen times on my last upwind sortie I flagged it.

A fun sesh in very testing conditions.

Three sails 5m koncept, 5.7 warp, 7 Loft blade, 2 boards, sonic 100, lorch 83, 3 fins 32 GW, 28 JP, 26 Falcon.

1 rescue, a few crashes, lots of crew (Jesper made it look so easy) and some brutal wind and at times chop.

Well done JJ on the speed PB. Still pushing it hard even after your injuries.Cool

Sorry for getting your hopes up ScarrgoEmbarassed

Wallyworld. Tide never really dropped otherwise it could have been epic!

An interesting early morning swim at Pt Walter, got to visit the Claremont museum but unfortunately it wasnt open. Many thanks to JJ for the lift back to Pt Walter, the only other option involved ringing my wife at 9am and asking for a lift (wouldnt have been popular). And congrats on your speed !

CA Speed and Koncept 5m - only did one run timed it perfectly for the nuking wind to turn of.

After warming up I decided to go to Melville and had a short and gusty sail there on the Sonic 95 with a 5.8, at times too windoy and at times not enough.  But had "got back on the horse", Numbers are all from there, didnt worry to post the 5km of body dragging and swimming Embarassed

Nice one team!

Was going to do the mission down to crab land but the lure of wave gear held sway... good to blow the cobwebs off the 4.5 Cool

Good to see so many out!

I did think of adding "and young enough to do it" but thought it was getting a bit too long. The bizarre thing is I actually still enjoyed myself.

Whoo hoo! What a day! Great PB JJ, who knows how fast you could have gone if you weren't still injured?

Great effort to clock over 100km in those strong gusty choppy conditions Mark, now just 221 km short of the 20 000 milestone and 61 km ahead of Vando.

OETKB, a great little teaser there, please tell more of the story...

and as for me... I got down to Melville at about 3.15 to find people just plodding along in about 10 knots, then two minutes later it had picked up to about 40 knots and there were boards blowing around the carpark and I had to sit on someone's sail to stop it taking off (and even then there was a risk). Another three minutes and all was calm again, nonplaning conditions. What to rig?? It was cold and choppy and so up and down it looked more like hard work than good fun, so still being a bit sore from Friday's effort I decided against it. Looked in at Pt Walter to check it out and it was windy and flat as... Very tempting but everyone had come in by that point and not wanting to repeat OETKB's affort with noone to rescue me from Claremont, I decided to go home.

Gear crashing and body bashing weather, so I elected to faff about on my cruiser in the shed.Cool Then took Mother in-law for a run over to her brothers place, who's wife makes the bestest cakes. No wonder my gear no longer fits.Laughing

Great PB JJ, well done.Cool

good work tackling wally world guys... I thought about a double mission given how windy it was early on (and I was only 6 minutes away) but knew I'd probably just stay there all day if I started there. So conned Darryl to head straight down to SB. Looks like it was a tricky day for you guys- the bar would have been pretty square with the wind coming over that big hill (a bit like last time) making it horribly gusty and choppy on the bearaways.

Somepunk, yes I am, realised this morning a red anodised one.

Lightworker, I thought that the tide would be too low for S bay so went to Pt Walter. Three of the team there by 8am so decided to stay. Looks like I made the wrong call. I do not have the Lorch dialled in through chop and ate it at 35.5 yesterday (right hand is currently turning a nice shade of purple) so was not confident in taking on choppy stuff in those winds.

Sorry, Pointman. You would have been pushing 40 again down there from the sound of it.Embarassed
